What did the personality quiz tell you about how you would like to spend your time? Journaling will not only clarify your talents but help you organize to create space for the interests that light your fire?
Studies show only 1% of people write their goals down and review them. These people are among the highest achievers and happiest people.
Get specific and write about how you are currently spending your time.
By writing things down you are quickly able to identify where the days go. Are you doing those dreams and desires and activities you love or do you put them on the back burner and take care of other people’s needs first.
Now that you have taken the quiz you can start asking yourself leading questions.
What steps can I take for a more authentic lifestyle? What books do I want to read? Where can I create the space to enjoy more of my interests?
Write down crazy ideas.
Sometimes, the craziest thoughts can manifest into the wildest of adventures. If you have an absurd idea- don’t dismiss it but instead make sure to include it in your journal. For example—thinking about taking a trip abroad? Or maybe learning how to bungee jump? However crazy, put the idea down on paper and you may end up thanking yourself later.
Include the hard things.
Are you going through a loss or hardship? Recording your emotions and thoughts can help you process them, and can also help lower feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression which can change your perspective and create more space to plan for joy.
Maintain a log of successes.
Start by writing your larger successful moments, and then continue by writing the smaller ones. Do this frequently. You will inspire yourself as you watch this list of accomplishments grow. Before you know it, you’ll be motivated to create more opportunities for success and fun.
Keep a list of things you want to do.
Keeping track of your goals and desires will be motivational and inspire you to strive to get them done! You will be amazingly productive which leaves more time for your extracurricular activities.
Start putting new habits and rituals into your life.
Journaling can be a morning or evening ritual or both! By taking the time to write daily in your journal, you are now putting a new habit in your life and creating space to do deep thinking. It also shines the light on your desires. Once you can visualize your future, anything is possible. You will have the focus, drive, and determination to take action on the interests that light your fire!
